Malik Bin Deenar Islamic Complex (MIC) was established in
1985 with Thrissur as its headquarters with a view to
organizing institutions and co-ordinating their activities
for the educational and religious upliftment of the
Society. In 1988 the Orphanage was opened at Kaipamangalam
under Kodungallur Taluk Committee of MIC in order to
afford protection to the orphans who could not enjoy the
sweet affection of their loving parents and also to those
destitutes whose parents are incapable of maintaining
their children owing to their penorious circumstances with
the pious intention of bringing them up in such a way
as ot reder them dutiful citizens serviceable to society as
well as to the nation. There were only 55 inmates at the
start. At the commencement of MIC it possessed no land nor
building of its own. The destitute home was housed in the
Madrassa building owned by Puthanpally Madressa Committee,
who kindly offered it for a period of one year. With the
generous help of the benevolent people of our country and
of foreign countries, MIC could acquire within one year
two acres of land and could raise its own building. The
growth of MIC was (and is) unprecidental and within a
period of fifteen years it expanded and attained the
present condition. Presently the Orphanage and Destitute
Home has 125 inmates under its roof with free food,
clothing, lodging, education and medical attention costing
about two lakhs of rupees every month. This huge
expenditure is met by public contribution. It is worth
mention that the inmates of this home enjoy all facilities
and comforts as are available in an ordinary boarding
school collecting fees. Social welfare Dept. of Kerala
Govt. has approved this home and recognised it from the
year 1990 (R. No. 512)
